I chose the free version of Hotspot Shield (HS). I did not install the HS search bar that is offered. And I can just click away the AnchorFree webpage, and still continue to browse HS mode in Opera, Firefox, and IE9. It only goes back to unprotected mode when I click on the HS icon on the tray bar and then click on “Disconnect/OFF.
Going to it in HS “ON” mode I can read the texts I had posted on a forum where I have a ban. Otherwise I always get a message saying that I was banned by my IP.
By going in HS mode to websites were I can see my ip -like “What is my IP” for example- I see that instead of my ip another one shows.
HS mode does not slow my Internet connection down. I checked with speednet.
I had removed it once using Revo Unistaller Free deep scan mode, and no trace of HS was left anywhere on my notebook. But I installed it again.
